Cho Eunjoung is a Seoul-based painter.
She explores the balance of mind through painting, addressing emotional weight and relational distance through floating forms and unconventional spatial arrangements.
This inquiry unfolds through two series.
The Shape of Lightness (Lightness Series, 2025–) addresses the weight of emotions and the conditions that allow them to move toward balance.
The Shape of Distance (Orbit Series, 2026–) examines the relational distances formed between people, between the self and emotion, and among emotions, understanding balance as a state in which an appropriate distance is maintained without intrusion or collapse.
While the two series approach the balance of mind through distinct visual languages, they ultimately share the question of what balance is and under what conditions it takes shape.

그녀는 ‘마음의 균형’을 회화로 탐구하며, 부유하는 형상과 비일상적인 공간 배치를 통해 감정의 무게와 관계적 거리를 다룬다.
이 탐구는 두 개의 시리즈로 전개된다.
The Shape of Lightness (Lightness Series, 2025~)는 감정의 무게와 감정이 균형 쪽으로 이동할 수 있게 되는 조건을 다룬다.
The Shape of Distance (Orbit Series, 2026~)는 사람–사람, 나–감정, 감정–감정 사이에 형성되는 관계적 거리를 다루며, 침범이나 붕괴 없이 적당한 거리가 유지되는 상태를 균형으로 본다.
두 시리즈는 서로 다른 시각 언어를 통해 마음의 균형에 접근하지만, 결국 균형이 무엇이고 어떤 조건에서 형성되는가라는 질문을 공유한다.
