Lightness
Lightness is a world within The Shape of Weight (Weight Series) that explores the state of emotional lightness.
Originating from the idea of imagining emotions as “weight,” this world examines how lightness appears through form, color, and density. While heavy emotions sink and remain stagnant, light emotions rise, flow, and expand like air. I explore how this state of lightness generates specific visual conditions and how it relates to the balance of mind.
Lightness does not depict balance itself.
Instead, it presents the conditions and possibilities required to approach it.
Within The Shape of Weight, Lightness is the opening scene — the point from which this world begins.

Lightness는 The Shape of Weight (Weight Series) 안에서 감정의 ‘가벼움’을 다루는 세계입니다.
감정을 ‘무게’로 상상하는 데서 출발한 이 세계는, 가벼움이 형태·색·밀도 속에서 어떻게 드러나는지를 탐구합니다. 무거운 감정이 가라앉아 정체된다면, 가벼운 감정은 떠오르고 흐르며 대기처럼 확장됩니다. 나는 이러한 가벼움의 상태가 어떤 시각적 조건을 형성하고, 마음의 균형과 어떤 관계를 맺는지를 회화적으로 다룹니다.
Lightness는 마음의 균형을 직접적으로 묘사하는 시리즈가 아닙니다. 대신 그 균형에 닿기 위해 필요한 조건과 가능성을 보여줍니다. The Shape of Weight 안에서 Lightness는 가벼움이 여는 첫 장면이자, 전체 세계의 출발점입니다.
